Inspired by the annoyances thread, how about little things that make you happy.

Your dog being excited to see you even though you've been gone all of forty five seconds to get the mail.
A hug from your significant other.
Channel surfing and finding an awesome episode of your favorite show on.
Cookies.
Cooking something and having it come out flawless.
Convertibles
A good knuckle cracking. Or back cracking (Much to everyone else's displeasure.)
The fun feeling of taking the plastic wrap off a new cd/dvd/game

food that will cause me heart desease(but hay, it tasts good so thats what counts)

when hot women show intrest in me

:beach:

okay I threw a tantrum on the first so I'll do better:

My wonderful wife having coffee ready when I get up in the morning.
My kids giving me a hug when they see me in the afternoon.
Waking up late on a Sunday morning.
Making a joke as a welcome to the workday.
Nothing like a kiss and a hug from my wife when I really need one.
183 miles from JSC and 183 from KSC when I work in Miami.

Now that's more like it! Nice to have a thread that focusses on the positive after so many grumbly/paranoid discussions...

  • Spending time with my wife and kids - fantastic fun people and always up
  • Nice workout with the bokken and jo - I'm an apprentice samurai, though I suck I enjoy it immensely
  • Overcoming any Orbiter challenge - navigation, reentry, addons etc
  • Music to fit the mood, the time and the place
  • Samurai or Pixar movies
  • The beautiful landscape of Catalonia, beaches and rocky coves to pastures and mountains - and always the shining Mediterranean
  • Learning anything new
  • Creating anything new
  • Seeing the look in people's eyes at work that says - yes, I've actually done a good job today

Looking at this list I'm aware of how much I have that makes me happy, and how much I should be thankful for after a pretty terrible and negative first half of my life.

model railroading

No way! I thought model railroaders were a dying breed. What scale?

Back to the list:
Shooting hoops, and you just drop one flawlessly in the hole. Doesn't even touch the rim, just snaps the net.
The weird little feeling you get when you put a Q-Tip in your ear.
Junior Mints. They're chocolate, they're minty. They're very refreshing!
Holding your baby niece for the first time. (That was a few weeks ago. I was terrified since I'd never held a baby before in my life.)
Endurance Racing getting on TV. (Petit Le Mans!)
Playing darts for the first time and actually hitting the board 90% of the time.
Driving between the hours of 3 AM and 5 AM. Nobody's on the road, everything is still and quiet, it's great.

... that look of fear the customers get in their eyes at the moment they realize just how badly they've screwed up their computer
... the knowledge that you can fix said screwup
... a freshly brewed pot of coffee
... warm doughnuts
... the kids actually WANTING to tell you how their day went

That little feeling you get when you know you are right when someone else is wrong.

-Spending time with my wife
-Spending time with my friends
-Orbiter
-Spending time with the show (I have had some presentations since last december)
