LUA Terrain elevation

Is there any way for retrieving the elevation of an arbitrary point () in the surface of a planet?

I can get the elevation of my vessel with vessel:get_surfaceelevation() but I can't find a method to retrieve the elevation of another location in the planet, given its coordinates.

The Orbiter API has oapiSurfaceElevation. I don't know if that is available in Lua though.
