Hi :salute:
I'd like to understand something about docking sounds with XRSound...
I was trying to customize the docking/undocking sounds for my vessel, but I only have the "undocking" sound.
I woul like to use this (in my ship's XRSound configuration file) :
But I realized that...
😅
So, I understood and found out what this command is for : it seems to "block" the loading of the surface tiles.
I don't really understand the purpose of this command.
Anyway, I changed the command letter for my Cessna from F to V.
For the Flaps, instead of Shift+F and Ctrl+Shift+F, I set...
Hi :salute:
So I've discovered something... that I don't understand...
Let me explain to you :
I'm currently adapting my Cessna (in my "French Guiana Airport" add-on) for Orbiter 2024.
(It was for Orbiter 2016)
One of the commands I've defined is "Flaps retract" with the key...
Shadow artifact on the ground (near the exhaust vents) of the Pad not very realistic
Improved ground texture (near the exhaust vents)
Added a light halo around the spotlights of the PAD
Added a "front" spotlight (in front of the rocket)
Reduced the size of the 4 red lights located in the middle...
Hi Matias
Oh yes, I know you've taken on a monumental task, and that it's no easy.
Thank you again for everything you do for the community.
Take your time, knowing that the multistage module you compiled in October 2015 works perfectly, (if you don't exceed one booster). ;)
I'm using it...
Hi :salute:
Just for information :
Regarding the "guidance" file, the number of lines (or commands) seems to be limited to 149.
That is, no more than 149 lines; the 150th line (or command) and following are no longer read.
Has anyone noticed this ?
While I'm at it, I have a question ...
Hi Matias
So here are the results of my tests.
I created several very simple guidance files.
(I did these tests quite quickly.)
TEST #1
guidance file
Result :
MET should start at MET=-16, but starts at MET=0
-16=orbit(460,465,73)...
I just took a quick look and again, sorry, but still
no "Eng_tex" and no "Eng_pstream" for groups [BOOSTER_1] and [BOOSTER_2]
And as a reminder, my ini file I'm used :
Here's what can be done by combining the two Multistage and Vesselbuilder modules.... :D
This improvement will be included in my add-on Ariane 6 flight VA267 (update to come and in addition VA268)
For me, no, this isn't a new orbiter installation (clean) , but a special orbiter that I only use to fine-tune my Ariane 6 rocket.
I think we can consider it as "clean" ... ;)
Sorry, but... it's not quite right yet... 😢
WITH 3 BOOSTERS GROUPS :
1) Only the last booster displays eng_tex and eng_pstream1
2) During separation before end of combustion (manual with J) => CTD
3) If the rocket launches with the guidance file (P key)
a) If J is pressed before the end of...
Yes, I'll test now... :hailprobe:
Oh, sorry, I forgot one thing :
In the ini file, delete this line in the [FAIRING] section:
module=..\Kourou_Rockets\Ariane6\A6_268_FairingSL
name=Fairing
(you don't have the "module")
Hi Matias
So I made for you a special rocket with 3 groups of boosters. 😅
I only included the rocket itself (no pad or moving tower) for simplicity.
I'm having trouble setting the ejection of the four A6 boosters.
I haven't been able to adjust "speed=" and "rot_speed="
It's not important...
Hello
Yes, I seem to recall encountering this problem in the past.
There is a solution:
Edit the mesh (with notepad) representing the hill and add FLAG 1 to the beginning of each group.
Example:
If there are multiple groups, you must do the same thing.
Your mesh will no longer have shadows.
Hi Matias
Sure.
I'll try to make you a zip file with a "secial" 4-boosters configuration
with all the files needed to make it work.
I might not have time tonight, but at the latest tomorrow. 🐌
To build a rocket, I recommend "Multistage"
Multistage2015 works very well with Orbiter 2016
A version recompiled by Matias (included in my Ariane 6 add-on) works well in Orbiter 2024 (except for the boosters, which cause problems).
A Multistage2026 version is currently being developed by...
