Yeah, I usually launch with limited fuel on until almost in orbit to eject the external tank, then turn off the limited fuel to finish orbit, rendezvous, and dock. Otherwise, I usually run out of gas.

The best part is learning what it takes to rendezvous with another spacecraft. It’s not just ‘flying there’ as many people I know think.

@Linguofreak: I think that’s because for most of us, our fathers or grandfathers were in WWII, we knew them. WWI most of those guys were gone before we knew them, it’s more like part of distant history. Sorta like youngsters today, I lived Vietnam, to them it’s distant history.
