The SIVB module now has the capability of spawning a payload vessel at CSM/LV separation!
The significance of this is that the entire LM is now created at CSM separation instead of at LM extraction from the SLA. The way it was handled before is that the LM only existed as a mesh that was part...
Is the LM spinning to heads-down towards the moon with full thrust? I don’t have access to my PC unfortunately so I can’t check the scenario, but I may know what is happening based on your description. Did you remember to set your joysticks throttle at 0 before PDI? If you forget this it will...
This guide is intended to help users install NASSP 8.0 Beta into Orbiter 2016 Beta. If you are looking for information on installing NASSP 7.0 for Orbiter 2010, please see the wiki article here: http://nassp.sourceforge.net/wiki/Installation
Requirements:
- Latest Orbiter Beta NASSP 8.0 is not...
LM visuals update:
The NASSP Lunar Module has been completely remade from scratch with Blender:
-Accurate dimensions based on diagrams from LM systems handbook and other NASA documents, and (only for reference purposes) the great LM mesh of AAPO
-The LM is now completely animated including...
Yeah, ideally I guess we would animate the probes at contact so they bend sideways...one issue with this is it would be hard to make it look right I think, as the rate at which they bend would depend on the descent rate and what about the case where you only touch one footpad at a time? Or if...
Thanks for the help guys! The Delta Glider source code has excellent examples for the use of oapiEditMeshGroup(), so I was able to use that to help implement it in NASSP. Works great!
Hey guys, quick question about mesh groups:
In NASSP we load the contact probes as a separate mesh that we delete at lunar contact. We are now working with a new lunar module mesh and would like to include the contact probes as part of the descent stage mesh itself (not a separate mesh) and...
Unfortunately I cannot run your scenario properly, Orbiter loads but I am sitting somewhere one earth and the LM is not loaded at all. I believe this is because you deleted the CSM from the scenario...this can have some bad effects like this. Please if you can, post a scenario without deleting...
A few from the return trip from Fra Mauro (Apollo 14)
Also, I posted a scenario pack from this mission here: https://www.orbiter-forum.com/showthread.php?t=39930
I added Apollo 14 mission pack. I realize this is not the order I initially intended, Apollo 10 being the next of the missions to be posted, but there were a few new features of the RTCC MFD I wanted to test so ended up flying Apollo 14.
Next up will be either Apollo 10 or 11 which should be...
I have updated this old scenario in the WIP folder so that RCS functions at least and the landing can be accomplished. There are still many ECS C&W lights on, but that would require me to re-fly the mission and get a fresh scenario for that to be fixed.
I agree we should definitely have a better system for entering RR measurements into the DEDA, the keyboard interface would be a great way to do that.
About taking RR marks with the DEDA on Apollo 9, I believe that unfortunately it is not possible yet. The AGS uses FP6 which is the Apollo 11...
