    Updates ISS UPDATES

The expansion was taking a long time and I didn't listen to all of it. According to NASA, the expansion is "standing down for today" and more information will be available later.

And if NASA had enough money. The entire show is 99 episodes and I'm not even 10 episodes in, so there's still a lot ahead.

I started watching Space Brothers, it's free on Crunchyroll. I didn't expect it to be so silly, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. I think there's too much exposition though. For brothers, they look too dissimilar. Mutta actually looks Asian, but Hibito looks white. That and the use of...

Don't know why this video is unlisted, but here's the hosted webcast: I guess it might be reuploaded later.

    Updates Herschel & Planck News

There's an older thread about the spacecraft's assembly. Looking at Herschel, its mirror appears to reflect visible light well. If scientists could have stuck a visible camera in it, Herschel would have been a wide-angle visible observatory with a larger mirror than Hubble. Or maybe Herschel...

Updates Mission to a Hidden Ocean: The Europa Clipper

As a result of the new Ocean Worlds Program, NASA will be including Titan and Enceladus proposals in the next New Frontiers mission. As for Europa, the Planetary Science program is still not certain of which booster will be used. According to Van Kane, the idea for an ESA daughter spacecraft has...

News European scientists set eyes on ice moon Europa

Looks like Europa Europe is considering the offer NASA made a while ago. Currently, it appears that NASA's Europa Clipper and lander will be launched on separate rockets, so there should be mass available for Europe's add-on. EDIT: As I thought, NASA dropped the idea of a daughter European...

News ULA and Bigelow Announce Partnership

The Delta IV Heavy and Atlas V are America's only active heavy lift launch vehicles, so there's not much choice. However, shouldn't ULA be developing Vulcan to end reliance on the RD-180s? With the Falcon Heavy debut soon, it seems prudent for SpaceX to develop a larger fairing.

Updates Blue Origin New Shepard News and Updates

Looks like Blue Origin is on its way to beat Virgin Galactic to carry private passengers. Considering New Shepard's capsule has a launch escape system, it may be safer than a spaceplane.

South Africa's nascent space program doesn't mention human spaceflight. It's more like RIC.

Google released a package of Lightroom and Photoshop plug-ins for free. Using Silver Efex Pro, I was able to salvage a photograph that's several months old. I should go back to that location and shoot an adjacent, slightly more photogenic building. It was under renovation when I took that photo.

EDIT: Missed the post by N_Molson The launch was apparently narrowly successful. The gif of ExoMars posted earlier is actually Briz and its debris. Universe Today: "ExoMars Mission Narrowly Avoids Exploding Booster" Popular Mechanics: "Did the New Russia-Europe Mars Mission Narrowly...
