Updates Orion (MPCV) Updates and Discussion

Really? I thought NASA proposed a HLV and complained it couldnt reach the goal, or will the launch vehicles be proposed some time in this year in April, IIRC.

What kind of add-on do you think would change Orbiter forever?

A autopilot MFD or module, that could control dockings, landing, liftoff, and where the spacecraft is going. Launch autopilots are common, but the rest are hard to find. AutoFCS refuses to work with Orbiter 2010 and shows nothing in the landing field runway. That would benefit orbiter is a way.

    Question General Spaceflight Q&A

If the STS-107 rescue was launched, how would the Rescue shuttle crew get the Columbia crew.? The airlock was replaced by the transfer tunnel to spacehab so the crew couldnt get out unless there were an airlock somewhere around the spacehab transfer tunnel

Updates Orion (MPCV) Updates and Discussion

Thought I'd bring this up, but with the space shuttle being close to retirement, and STS-133 tomorrow, what will the Orion launch vehicle be? Will it be a CCDev rocket like the new Liberty that uses the Ares I first stage and the Ariane 5 2nd stage? Also, what about Lockheed Martin's Orion Delta...

Discussion Proposal to keep Shuttles till 2017

NASA should just retire the Shuttle, then use a Sidemount SDLV. But if they did have a private shuttle, it just seems weird. Post shuttle is a crazy time.

    My paper ISS model

Yikes, I've seen many 1/48 Saturn V's, pretty big, require about 3 months. Basically, giant things dont look in scales below 1/100 scale :tiphat:

News NASA Delivers Heavy Lift Proposal to Congress

NASA should build the SDHLV Costing about 6.6 billion dollars, and only 4 years to build, you could be able to fit the Orion capsule on the top, and Altair in the cargo bay, atleast I think. The whole space shuttles, Discovery, Atlantis, Enedavour, Columbia, and Challenger cost about 5 billion...

    New doomsday prediction...

Very true, however, if it does reach anywhere near earth, we'll have those nice people who build a certain rocket that rhymes with Borton :hailprobe:

    New doomsday prediction...

Did anyone remember that game, The Dig? Where you had to fly Shuttle Atlantis and nuke that astroid? On topic, if rockosmos is going to destroy that astroid, how would Nukes in space work? Dont nuclear bombs use air? Well, all we know is, we have the army for destroying astroids. And...

    Question Revell ISS model

Its not really that detailed, it has the cancelled Emergency Escape Ship, I have the Space models one, or whatever they call it. It's prepainted. Revell if you have the time to paint and build, Space models if you have the money.
