Request Ares I-X addon?

Well.. seeing as we have little less than a week to this historic launch and I've not seen an Ares I-X addon, or the past months a modfified LC39B. Anyone want to start on this? I'd be willing to help in anyway I can!!

Hahahaha!!! I guess we'll see. There hasn't been a single Constellation addon that is even halfway decent. I would love to see an Ares i/v addon that comes close to the ATV/CTV addons.

Well, I got an 1X in making. Focus lately have just been on SSU. But now that I have full 360° photos of the vehicle I should be able to complete it.

Once I have the first meshes, I can make a RC of the Ares-IX from the SSU source code in one or two weekends, most of the needed code is there, I just need to select the needed pieces and put them together.

Seriously nice work. I've managed to "build" a rocket (using ar81's tutorial), but that's pretty much as far as I've gone. I just don't have the time to dedicate to building, texturing and coding. I'm learning, but progress is slow due to RL. Texturing by itself seems to be an art form (or voodoo).

Will this use vinka's multistage, or it's own .dll?

Has anyone meshed a modified launchpad for the Ares to use?

Latest texturing work on the USS. Now only have some details left on the LAS and CEV SM(mock-up RCS thrusters and LAS nozzles). Then it's back to the First Stage to finish it up.

I planned to make a DLL, based on the SRB code of the SSU add-on. This way we have around 70% of the work already done.

Doesn't the Ares I-X launch from the standard MLP because it uses the "socket" for the shuttle SRBs? Because almost everything above the fourth SRB segment is a dummy it doesn't even need extra umbilicals, AFAIK.

There have to be new connections for the electronics, since the Shuttle SRBs get their commands from the Orbiter, which gets it's commands from the LPS and the LDBs.

As far as Constellation addon. There is the Lunar Electric Rover.
I think Doug is working on a delivery vessel for it.

For now, in my eyes, maybe DaveS has different plans, just a model of the test launcher, as extension or branch of the SSU project. There is a lot of stuff missing for making a complete launcher out of it, though it would be possible to develop over time.

Well, the Ares 1X is just a Developmental Flight Test(DFT). Everything above the First Stage is dummy-payload. There's no real upper-stage or CEV. Both are hollow simulators. The Upper Stage Simulator(USS) will not be recovered, only the First Stage.
